![]() New writing is the lifeblood of Grey Coast Theatre and we need new writers if the company is to have a future in the North of Scotland. Whatever your level of experience, if you'd like to write for the stage, we would like to give you the opportunity to hear your work read by actors and to see what our audiences think of it. Send us a short script before 1 June 2001. All submissions will be read by our panel and eight of the writers will be invited to join us for a day of discussion and rehearsal on 29 or 30 June. Each evening four scripts will be read to an audience in an informal setting. It is hoped that several of the writers may go on to work professionally with Grey Coast, perhaps at this year's intensive October Playharvest, and ultimately a full commission may be offered. Everyone is welcome to attend both of the evening performances, free of charge. |

Actors' guidelines About 10-12 community actors are needed to work with the directors over two days and to take a part in three or four of the plays. Performances will be moved readings before a small local audience. If you can only attend for one day, we may still be able to accommodate you. Please get in touch. Some experience of acting in an amateur, community or professional context is preferred. There will be no auditions but, depending on the number of volunteers, some selection process may be necessary. The aim will be to include as varied a range of participants as possible. Preference will be given to actors resident in the Highlands and Islands.
